Where to Stay in Bintan Island

When travelling to Bintan Island, where you choose to stay will largely depend on your reasons for visiting the island. If you are looking for a relaxing beach break where everything is taken care of for you, then the resort hotels on the northern coast are probably what you are looking for. If you want to sample local culture and cuisine, then it might be a better idea to find a hotel in one of the island’s more urban areas.

Romance

If you are looking for a romantic getaway, then the Banyan Tree Resort or the Sanchaya Resort might be for you. Both offer luxury spas and accommodation and have private beaches away from the crowds.

If you are looking to experience the island’s urban areas, then you may choose to stay away from the resort hotels and stay in the centre of Tanjung Pinang. This large town has a population of around 200,000 inhabitants and is the capital of the province of the Riau islands. It is well-known for its impressive Buddhist temple and its fishing industry. For those who prefer to stay in Tanjung Pinang area, you can stay at Aston Tanjung Pinang Hotel or Pelangi Hotel.
