The Caroni Bird Sanctuary is a wonderful experience of nature.
We will be taking the tour down the Caroni Swamp on a open flat bottemed boat, which is the second largest wetland in Trinidad. It has 5, 611 hectares of mangrove forest, herbaceous marsh, saline lagoons and intertidal mudflaps. The Caroni Swamp is a major roosting place for Trinidad & Tobago's national bird, the Scarlet Ibis and is also home to over 100 avian species. If you are lucky you may spot Caimans, silky anteaters, non poisonous snakes and much more different wildlife. This is such a great tour for eco-tourist, bird lovers and people who love an exciting adventure. |
