SINGAPORE - BUCHAREST
Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Bucharest - Romania.
DAY 2
BUCHAREST (LUNCH/DINNER)
Welcome to Romania! Be greeted by our local guide and embark on a sightseeing tour of this beautiful capital city of Romania. Starting from the Square of the Free Press and continuing to downtown. View the Arch of Triumph from the 19th century, the Victory Palace, the Victory Avenue with its outstanding French architecture, the Revolution Square and the Royal Palace. Later continue to discover the small streets of the Lipscani neighbourhood with the Old Princely Court and the residence of Vlad the Impaler, built in the 15th century.
DAY 3
BUCHAREST - SINAIA - BRAN - BRASOV (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)
After breakfast, drive towards the Carpathian Mountains through the breath-taking Prahova Valley, where you can enjoy exquisite views of nature at its best. Stop at Sinaia for a visit to the amazing Peles Castle, one of the most beautiful 19th century castles in the world, now an outstanding museum preserving the original furniture, decorations and paintings. After lunch, head to the village of Bran, where you will visit the most famous castle in Eastern Europe - Dracula’s Castle. The surroundings of the castle inspired the Irish writer, Bram Stocker, to set his vampire fiction in Transylvania in the first place. After this legendary experience, you travel to Brasov.
DAY 4
BRASOV - SIGHISOARA - SIBIU (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)
As you wake up in Brasov, the 'Crown of Transylvania', discover the beautiful colourful Old Town with the Council Square and the Black Church, Romania’s biggest gothic church and the largest one between Vienna and Istanbul. Continue your journey to Sighisoara, the birth place of Count Dracula and one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe. Enjoy lunch in the birth house of Dracula and continue with a walking tour where you visit the Clock Tower and Church on the Hill.
DAY 5
SIBIU - COZIA - BUCHAREST (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)
Start today with a tour of the luring city of Sibiu, a town settled by the German colonists in the 12th century which preserves until today its wonderful medieval atmosphere. The walking tour starts at the Grand Square, where you will find the Catholic Church and the Bruckenthal Palace. Continue with Liar’s Bridge, the Small Square and Huet Square and enjoy lunch in the city. Next, you stop at the Cozia Monastery, built in the 14th century, where you visit one of the most valuable monuments of medieval art and architecture in Romania. In the afternoon, return to Bucharest followed by dinner in the old town complete with folklore show.
DAY 6
BUCHAREST - IVANOVO - VELIKO TARNOVO (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)
Wake up in the heart of the 'Little Paris of the East', embark on a tour of the city renowned for its wide, tree-lined boulevards and belle-époque architecture, including a visit to the Palace of the Parliament, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon building in the USA. After lunch at a local restaurant and then continue your journey to Bulgaria. Arrive in the village of Ivanovo, where you visit an impressive rock church founded in the 1220s. The monastery has representative wall-paintings which show the specifics of Bulgarian church art from the 13th and 14th centuries. Thereafter, head towards Veliko Tarnovo, the medieval capital city of Bulgaria, with a history of more than 5000 years.)
DAY 7
VELIKO TARNOVO - ARBANASSI - SOFIA (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)
Embark on a tour of the historic Veliko Tarnovo, with a visit of the Tsaravets fortress and the St. Demetrius church. Continue to Arbanassi, a village where you can admire the Cathedral of Nativity, which fascinates its visitors with its unique murals. After lunch, you travel to Sofia the capital city of Bulgaria.
DAY 8
SOFIA - RILA - SOFIA (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)
This morning you drive to the biggest monastery in Bulgaria, the Orthodox Rila Monastery. It is situated at 1150m above sea level and was founded in 927 AD. It belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The monastery hosts valuable paintings, thousands of manuscripts, old printed books and masterworks of wood carving. Enjoy lunch in Rila. Return to Sofia, where you enjoy a walking tour that starts at Sveta Nedelya square. A few steps away from the square is the oldest church in the city, the St. George Rotunda, built by the Romans in the 4th century. Then, you admire the precious, fascinating buildings of Banya-Bashi Mosque and the Presidency. The landmark of the city is the Orthodox Cathedral Alexander Nevsky, built in the 20th century. In the evening, enjoy dinner with traditional folklore show.
DAY 9
SOFIA - SINGAPORE (BREAKFAST)
After breakfast, you have some free time for last minute shopping before transfer to the airport for your flight home.
