Depart Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Los Angeles. Upon arrival, collect your rental car from the airport before proceeding to your hotel. Thereafter, spend the rest of the day at leisure.

LOS ANGELES

Today, enjoy a leisurely stroll down Hollywood Walk of Fame, the world’s most famous sidewalk. Follow the path where over 2,500 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars honouring celebrated Hollywood stars are embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street. Then proceed to Hollywood & Highland Center or Griffith Park Observatory to view the spectacular Hollywood Sign, a cultural icon of Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES – SANTA MONICA PIER – SOLVANG – SANTA MARIA (Drive Time: 4 hrs)

This morning, drive to Santa Monica Pier, where the popular movie, “Forrest Gump” was filmed. Thereafter, drive northwards towards the city of Solvang, a small Danish settlement in California. Savour some Danish pastries and take photos of windmills before you continue driving to Santa Maria.

SANTA MARIA – HEARST CASTLE – MONTEREY (Drive Time: 4.5 hrs)

Today, travel on the Pacific Coast Highway 1 to Hearst Castle. The legendary Hearst Castle is a living history museum once owned by media magnate, William Randolph Hearst, and is now a state historic monument. In the afternoon, drive along the California coast to Monterey. Enroute, stop by the village of Carmel. Continue to drive along the stunning landscape of 17-Mile Drive before strolling down Cannery Row, where many former canning factories have been repurposed to house restaurants and hotels.

MONTEREY – GILROY PREMIUM OUTLETS – NAPA VALLEY (Drive Time: 3.5 hrs)

Start your day with shopping at Gilroy Premium Outlets, one of the largest outlet malls in California. With its collection of the finest designer labels and brands at greatly discounted prices, it is a bargain hunter’s haven. This afternoon, drive to Napa Valley and enjoy wine tastings for a nominal amount at the numerous wineries within the region. If time permits, hop on board the Napa Valley Wine Train, which runs through the heart of Napa Valley, and savour gourmet food and fine wines from the region during the journey.

NAPA VALLEY – SACRAMENTO (Drive Time: 1.5 hrs)

This morning, drive to Sacramento, the capital city of California. Head to California State Capitol Museum to view an extensive collection of important historical California artifacts, artwork, and antique furnishings including restored offices of the Secretary, Treasurer and Governor of the State of California. If time permits, you may also wish to visit California State Railroad Museum, as well as Sutter’s Fort, designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1961.

SACRAMENTO – LAKE TAHOE – SACRAMENTO (Drive Time: 4.5 hrs)

Start your day by driving to Lake Tahoe, the largest alpine lake in North America and the second deepest lake in the United States. If the weather permits, spend a leisurely day with a picnic by the lake. If you are feeling adventurous, go on one of the nature trails to discover hidden waterfalls, or engage in water activities such as kayaking or water skiing. Thereafter, drive back to Sacramento for your overnight stay.

SACRAMENTO – SAUSALITO – SAN FRANCISCO (Drive Time: 3 hrs)

Today, drive to Sausalito, a picturesque waterfront community with spectacular city views across the bay. On the way back to San Francisco, stop by North Vista Point, where you can take photos of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco’s internationally renowned landmark. In San Francisco, put your driving skills to the test as you drive down Lombard Street, often referred to as the crookedness street in the city. Thereafter, head over to Fisherman’s Wharf, where dining and shopping options are aplenty.

This morning, consider an optional trip to Legion of Honor, a fine arts museum with a prized collection of ancient and European art pieces. Visit Cable Car Museum to view its collection of historic cable cars, photographs and mechanical exhibits. Next, head over to San Francisco Chinatown, the oldest Chinatown in North America and the largest outside of Asia. Thereafter, stop by Union Square, a vibrant shopping, dining, hotel and cultural centre where department stores, high-end boutiques and gift shops congregate, to do some shopping.
