Singapore - Narita / Haneda

Begin your vacation with a flight to Narita (Tokyo).

Narita/Haneda - Nikko

Upon arrival, meet and greet by local representative. Depart for beautiful Nikko to visit the world-famous Toshugu Shrine, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a gorgeous complex of colorful structures featuring the superb craftsmanship of Japan's 17th century artisans. Next, drive on Irohazaka's zigzag driveway (subject to weather conditions) up the mountain where we will stop over to visit the stunning Kegon Falls and enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful Lake Chuzenji. Visit Ryuoko, cross the suspension bridge and see stream water running down the Kinugawa River.

NOTE: In the event of poor weather conditions (rain, snow, etc), the narrow Irohazaka's zigzag driveway may be risky to travel, thus there will be no replacement.

Nikko - Gunma - Karuimwa/Matsumoto

After breakfast, drive towards Gunma. Visit Gunma Fruit Farm where you can pick and take away various fruits that are in season (subject to weather conditions). Continue to the famous "Silk Falls" - The Shiraito Falls with its 70 - metres long fine, silky strands of groundwater falling like threads from the rock face. Visit US-originated full-scale outlet Karuizawa Chelsea Premium Outlets, where you can get a wide range of branded merchandise at discounted prices. Popular brands include Prada, Coach, Elle, Gap, Gucci, Adidas, Nike, Timberland, Polo Ralph Lauren, Reebok, YSL, Dunhill, Valentino, Armani Exchange, Kenzo, D'urban, Salvatore Ferragamo, Hush Puppies, Zegna, United Colours of Benetton, Ellesse, Fila, Calvin Klein, Escada, etc. Continue to Matsumoto to see the magnificent Matsumoto Castle (entrance fee excluded), Japan's oldest wooden castle and one of the four castles designated as National Treasures.

Matsumoto - Tateyama - Toyama

An exciting day awaits - the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route has a distance of 86km and goes from Nagano Ogisawa (1433 metres above sea level) - Tateyama Station. Only authorized transportation are permitted to operate in the Tateyama National Park. The 6 different scenic public transportation offering different experiences are as follows:

1. TrolleyBus - A 16-minute Trolley Bus will take you from Ogizawa to Kurobe Dam. Height above sea level 1470 metres.

- Walk (Comfortable Shoes Needed) - 15-minute by foot from Kurobe Dam to Kurobeko, witnessing the awe-inspiring Lake Kurobe surrounded by the Alps. See 186m height Kurobe Dam with water. Height above sea level 1455 metres.

2. Kurobe Cablecar - A 5-minute Kurobe Cablecar will take you from Kurobeko and ascend to Kurobedaira. Height above sea level 1828 metres.

3. Tateyama Ropeways - From Kurobedaira, a 17-minute Tateyama Ropeway will ascend to Daikanbo. From the cabin, see scenic snow-capped mountains surrounding Lake Kurobe. Height above sea level 2316 metres.

4. Tateyama Tunnel TrolleyBus (Gloves Needed) - From Daikanbo, a 10-minute electrical Tateyama Trolley Bus will take you to Murodo. At the peak of Tateyama, you can see snow between Apr -Jun, Oct-Nov (subject to weather conditions). Height above sea level 2450 metres.

5. Tateyama Highland Bus - From Murodo, a 50-minute Tateyama Highland Bus will take you to Bijodaira. See the famous Shomyo Waterfalls, the famous 18-metre snow corridor and a possible sea of clouds. Height above sea level 977 metres.

6. Tateyama Cablecar - From Bijodaira, a7-minute cablecar descends to Tateyama Station

** Note: Wheel-chairs are not permitted on this trip. Upon arriving Tateyama Station, embark on our touring coach to Toyama city.

Toyama - Shirakawa-go - Takayama Kanazawa

After breakfast, continue to Shirakawa-go Ogimachi Gassho Village. This tranquil mountain village of 113 buildings was registered in 1995 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its architectural structure is known as "gassho-zukuri" (a house with a thatched gable roof, so named because of its shape resembling hands clasped in prayer: "gassho"), steeply sloping at an angle of 60 degrees for protection against heavy snowfall in winter. Continue to Old Castle Town "Takayama", also known as Little Kyoto. Take a stroll at the narrow street of Sanomachi (the old street of Takayama); it still retains the elegance. Continue to Kanazawa. Visit Higashi Chaya-Gai, where the slatted wooden facades of geisha houses in this narrow street are romantically preserved. Visit Kenroku-en Garden, ranked as Japan's top three gardens. The name refers to a renowned garden from China's Song Dynasty that requires 6 attributes for perfection: seclusion, spaciousness, artificiality, antiquity, abundant water and broad view. See the majestic Kanazawa Castle. of an Edo period township of 400 years ago where rickshaws are wheeled throughout the town.

Kanazawa - Kyoto - Osaka - Kansai

After breakfast, drive to Kyoto. En route, visit scenic Lake Biwa. On arrival, visit UNESCO World Heritage Site Kinkakuji, which is better known as "The Golden Pavilion". Continue to Osaka. Enjoy some time shopping at Kyoto Station before hitching a bullet train to Osaka. Explore the shopping paradise "Shinsaibashi" and be amazed by the many shops and departmental stores selling trendy clothes, shoes, books, etc. Visit food paradise "Dotombori", where you'll find cafes, restaurants, street food stalls, etc. See the colourful illuminated neon signboards by the Dotombori Canals, with their mirror reflections on the water. Occasionally, a small cruise boat may pass by.
