DAY 1 |
SINGAPORE – TAIPEI – BEITOU (Meals On Board/Hai Pa Wang Taiwanese Cuisine Dinner)
Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Taipei. Upon arrival, transfer to Beitou and spend the night at a Beitou hot spring resort. There is nothing quite like a good, relaxing soak to round up a day of travelling as you prepare for the tour to come. Here, enjoy a hot spring bath and discover the therapeutic remedies of natural spring water.
Note Please bring along your swimwear and swim cap for outdoor hot spring pool. |
DAY 2 |
BEITOU – TAIPEI – YILAN (Breakfast/Leisure Farm Specialty Dinner)
This morning, visit Gold Ecological Park to experience the historical and natural heritage of the area. Gain insights into the unique history and culture of the mining community, view what is purportedly Taiwan’s largest gold bar and experience gold panning --- you never know, you just might get a gold strike. Thereafter, transfer to Jiufen, a small town that was founded during the Qing dynasty. Today, it maintains its quaint village vibe with its cluster of traditional teahouses and speciality shops offering famous local dishes, snacks and crafts. Time to kick it down a notch and go down-tempo with the laidback, rustic and simple life at a leisure farm in Yilan. Take a retreat from modern life and experience the simple pleasures and fun of staying at a traditional Taiwanese leisure farm and begin by recapturing childhood joys by partaking in activities such as dumpling-making, releasing “heavenly lanterns” and spinning tops with your fellow travellers.
Note Public transfer to Jiufen will be used should visitation fall on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays or during major events in Taiwan. Releasing of heavenly lanterns is subject to weather conditions. |
DAY 3 |
YILAN – HSINCHU – TAIPEI (Breakfast)
This morning, visit Martyrs’ Shrine to observe the changing of guards’ procession ceremony before heading to a lingzhi specialty centre. Next, gear up for time of merriment, thrills and adventure at Leofoo Village Theme Park. Let the kiddies loose to rule the roost at the 4 themed areas, Wild West, South Pacific, African Safari and Arabian Kingdom, and take a ride on one of the park’s many roller coaster rides. Thereafter, visit a tea specialty store. Tonight, explore Shilin Night Market, the largest night market in Taipei where you can hunt for good bargains and sample a variety of local snacks. Operative word? Graze and pace.
|
DAY 4 |
TAIPEI (Breakfast)
With a rich tapestry of cultural sites, charming suburbs, bustling streetlife and hospitable inhabitants, Taipei has well earned its reputation of one of Asia’s most liveable cities. Spend your day at leisure exploring all that it has to offer. Visit Tamsui at your own expense, taking a leisurely jaunt down historic Tamsui Old Street to sample its famous iron eggs and browse for curious. Alternatively, immerse yourself in the vibrant ambience at Ximending, Taipei’s famed shopping area and the epicentre of the city’s youth culture to shop and people-watch. You could also head to East Taipei and indulge at a shopping spree at the iconic Taipei 101. Drama addicts might want to make a pilgrimage to Fisherman’s Wharf, one of the sites where the popular TV drama serial “Meteor Garden” was filmed.
|
DAY 5 |
TAIPEI – SINGAPORE (Breakfast/Meals On Board)
If time permits, you can do some last-minute shopping before visiting a Pixiu lucky charm centre. Thereafter, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
