DAY 1
Singapore - Yangon (Dinner)
Upon arrival, a warm welcome by our local guide at the arrival hall, we will then head over to Chinatown. Yangon’s Chinatown is home to Kheng Hock Chinese Temple, the largest and oldest temple to the Chinese sea-goddess Mazu in Yangon and attracts mostly Hokkien and Hakka worshippers; Chinatown Night Bazaar ; and clan organizations. We will spend some time there before enjoying Shan cuisine at Shan Yoe Yar Restaurant. The Shan are Tai ethnic group of Southeast Asia, who live primarily in the Shan State of Myanmar, but also inhabit in the adjacent regions of China, Laos, and Thailand.
DAY 2
Yangon – Bago - Kyaikhtiyo (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
After breakfast, we will drive to Bago (approx. 2 hrs). Before having lunch at 555 Restaurant, we will first make a stop at Kyaikhatwine Monastery to witness the offering of food to thousands of monks. After driving another two hours to the base of Kyaikhtiyo, we will switch from our coach to a designated truck for our way up to the mountaintop (approx. 1 hour). Once we reach to the top, we will check into the hotel. Then, we will walk to the famous Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda , or the Golden Rock. It is a large boulder, which appears delicately balanced, supposedly by the assistance of a well-placed hair of the Buddha, on the edge of a cliff near the top of a mountain. It is one of the most revered Buddhist shrines. The view from the mountaintop is also very spectacular. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
DAY 3
Kyaikhtiyo – Bago – Taukkyan – Yangon (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
In the morning, another visit to the Golden Rock is worth making to witness sunrise before having breakfast, and finally descending the mountain by a truck. After reaching the base camp, we will board our own coach to drive back to Bago. After lunch, we will visit the site of Shwethalyaung Reclining Buddha , and Shwemawdaw Pagoda (the tallest pagoda in Myanmar). We will also observe a weaving factory in a Mon village before returning back to Yangon. On the way back, we will make a stop at Taukkyan War Cemetery , a cemetery for Allied soldiers from the British Commonwealth who died in battle in Burma during the Second World War. After arriving back in Yangon, we will visit the White Elephant Farm. Traditional Burmese dinner will be served at Pandonmar Restaurant.
DAY 4
Yangon (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
A walking tour will begin after the breakfast of the day. The tour will begin from the center of the city, where Sule Pagoda (entrance not included), Independence Monument , City Hall , High Court , the former Rowe & Company, and Immanuel Baptist Church are located, and will pass through many other significant colonial buildings, such as Yangon Stock Exchange (formerly Reserve Bank of India), Police Commissioner’s Office , Custom House , Port Authority , Strand Hotel.
