DAY 1
Singapore – Siem Reap (L/D)
Assemble at the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Siem Reap a small colonial town, charming and pleasant enough to explore around with, some fine examples of French colonial architecture. Upon arrival, visit Angkor Silk Farm which consists of 8 hectare in rural Cambodia (16km west of Siem Reap Town). Visitors will discover the whole silk production process from Mulberry tree growing to silk weaving. Proceed to cruise at Tonle Sap Lake – largest inland body of water. Enjoy the spectacular views as you cruise along the lake which, enable you to see one of Asia's largest fascinating fishing villages. On the way back, visit the Artisans D'Angkor to discover the traditional Khmer techniques used for stone and wood carving, lacquering and gilding. A complete tour of the workshops will take you from raw materials to splendid craftwares. In addition, it also highlights wood and stone carving, lacquering and gilding crafts of sculptures and statues. The numerous items made in the workshops are inspired by the rich Cambodia heritage. Visit the Old Market and the Pub Street. Tonight dinner will be buffet with traditional Apsara Dance Show.
DAY 2
Siem Reap (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom. The fortified city of Angkor Thom was built by Angkor's greatest king, Jayavarman VII (1181 – 1219). The ancient wall city of Angkor Thom holds the famous Bayon Temple Thom with its 200 over enormous, mysterious smiling faces. Visit the Elephant Terrace with large sculptured royal elephants and guradas, Terrace of the Leper King, the Phinmeanakas and Baphoun. Continue to visit Ta Prohm, a temple in its 'natural state'. Surround by jungle, its labyrinth of stone hallways are overgrown with roots of the massive Banyan trees which, envelope the stones like tentacles. In the afternoon, start your tour with World Heritage – ANGKOR WAT, the largest temple in the world with volume of stones equalizing that of the Cheops Pyramid in Egypt. It was built by King Suryarvarman II from 1113 – 1150AD when Khmer Civilization was at its height of development, representing one of mankind’s most astonishing and enduring architectural achievements. Angkor Wat, surround by a moat with an exterior wall adorn the walls with distinctively Apsara carvings throughout the temple. The exterior walls of the lower level display extraordinary bas-reliefs, depicting stories and characters from Hindu mythology and the historical wars of Suryarvarman II. In the evening, proceed to watch sunset at Phnom Bakheng.
DAY 3
Siem Reap - Phnom Penh (B/L/D)
After breakfast, transfer by coach to Phnom Penh by Public BUS (approx. 6 hours), once known as the "Pearl of Asia" – a capital to the kingdom of Cambodia. Upon arrival, proceed to visit the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda – a place where the King of Cambodia resides in. Next, proceed to the Independence Monument and Naga Casino passing by the river for a view of the city and its local lifestyle. Dinner at local restaurant and then check-in to hotel.
DAY 4
Phnom Penh (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum, a former high school which was used as the notorious Security Prison 21 by the Khmer Rouge regime from its rise to power in 1975 to its fall in 1979. Tuol Sleng means "Hill of the Poisonous Trees". After your visit to the Genocide, you will be heading on to the Killing Fields, a number of sites in Cambodia where 200 000 people were executed and buried by the Khmer Rouge regime from 1975 to 1979, immediately after the end of the Vietnam War. Analysis of 309 mass grave sites reported by the DC-Cam Mapping Programme and Yale University indicated at least 1,386,734 victims. Estimates of the total number of deaths resulting from the Khmer Rouge policies, including disease and starvation, range from 1.4 to 2.2 million out of a population of around 7 million. Here, you will have a clear view of the actual location where execution took place. Afternoon, Spend some time at the Central Market for shopping.
DAY 5
Phnom Penh - Singapore (B/L)
After breakfast, free at own leisure until time for lunch then transfer to airport for your flight back to Singapore.
