SINGAPORE - OKINAWA NAHA

Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Okinawa, Naha. Okinawa is home to crystal blue seas, white sand beaches and colorful marine life. Consists of 160 islands of various size scattered across a vast area of ocean. The temperature in winter is about the same as that of springtime in Tokyo and Osaka, making it warm and comfortable throughout the year. Naha is the largest city in Okinawa Prefecture. Located in the southern part of Okinawa Main Island, it is the political, economic and transportation center of the prefecture. Upon arrival, you will be met by our local representative and transfer to hotel.

After breakfast, visit a local Masjid located near the Ryukyu University. Apparently the only mosque on the island, set up by the foreign Muslim students and expatriates. Thence, travel to visit Nakagusuku Castle Remains (World Heritage), former Castle of the Ryukyuan monarch Gosamaru. Today only the castle walls and a beautiful view of the ocean remain. It gives an image of the life in the era of the Ryukyu kingdom. Many Chinese porcelains and Ryukyuan ceramic tools of the 13th to 15th century were found here. Next, proceed to learn more about Sushi-Roll Making. Get to experience creating the most popular Japanese food that all Japanese prepare. Have fun to create and make your own hand-rolled Sushi and have them as your lunch! After lunch, visit to Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. Located at the same site where the International Ocean Exposition was held in 1975, the park houses the world’s 2nd largest aquarium and a dolphin theatre where you can enjoy exciting performances by the dolphins. Next, visit Kouri Jima Island. This can be reached by crossing the 1960 meter long Kouri Ohashi Bridge surrounded by the blue sea of Okinawa. On the island lies the Kouri Ocean Tower and find a variety of Cafes and Minshuku.

Today begin to explore the beautiful island, visit Cape Manza situated on the northwest Okinawa coast, not far from the picturesque beaches of Onna Village. The cape is up heaved outcropping of fossilized coral that overlooks the East China Sea particularly known for a distinctive formation that resulted from wave erosion and that resembles an elephant's trunk. One of the most beautiful cliffs of Okinawa and also a popular photo motif and consists completely of corals; the peculiar shape was formed by the high waves that with stormy weather keep splashing against the cliff. Next, visit the Nago Pineapple Park. Hop on the pineapple cart and ride through the pineapple the theme park. In the afternoon, proceed to AEON Mall Rycom the biggest Shopping Mall in Okinawa opened on April 24th 2015 with approximately 220 stores. It also has the biggest food court in Okinawa with 60 restaurants and about 5,500 seats. There is a prayer room in the mall. More shopping at the Mihama American Village with strolls of shopping and entertainment outlets initially set up for the US marines based in the island.

This morning visit Shurijo Castle a UNESCO World Heritage Site, nested on a top hill. Pierced by several large gates and ornately decorated of vermilion colour. It was the official residence of Ryuku monarchs till 1879. Today try your hands on the Shuri Ryusen (Experience Dyed Coral) The Okinawan craft of dying colorful patterns into fabrics is called Bingata, and it is said to have originated in Shuri in Naha City 400 years ago. Together with the traditional Bingata method Shuri Ryusen also developed its own style of using real corals like stamps to create honeycomb-like patterns. Color your own design using the traditional Okinawan Bingata method or use real corals like stamps to create colourful patterns. After lunch, step into Okinawa World, a theme park presenting the local history, culture and nature in one location. There are rows of shops and houses reproduced in traditional Okinawan style, also in the crafts village there are art museum and studios for making Bingata Dyed and woven textiles and a glass factory where you can experience DIY glass at your own expense. Within, take a stroll thru Gyokusendo Cave, the longest limestone cave in the Orient of which just 890m is open to the public, the actual length of the cave is about 5km. the longest of the many caves in the south of Okinawa island and the second longest cave in the entire country and feature spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. The inside of the cave is well maintained and the walking paths are comfortable and well lit. Do catch the Super Eisa Show (Drum show). Next, proceed to shop at Ashibinaa Outlet Mall. Another shopping paradise situated in front of the Southern Okinawa Sea with over 70 shops of mainly European brands like Boss, Fossil, Armani, Gap, Vivienne Westwood, Reebok and Ralph Lauren are lined up.

After breakfast, check out hotel. Before proceeding to airport for your flight back to Singapore. A quick stop at Tomari Iyumachi (local Fish market), to witness the early catch from the local fisherman at the wharf.
