Upon arrival at Helsinki continue with your domestic flight to Ivalo, followed by enjoy a scenic drive through the snowy land alongside Lake Inari to the border of Norway. Arrival at the the small town of Kirkenes located north east in Northern Norway, close to the Russian border. This tiny Arctic town, in the middle of the Northern Lights zone is an ideal destination for hunting the Northern Lights. With no mass tourism, Kirkenes is truly a quiet and peaceful destination, offering you a unique feeling of closeness to the amazing Arctic. Tonight, board the Aurora Express Coach and towards the Russian border to view the Northern Lights!*

KIRKENES – IVALO – SAARISELKA

A totally unforgettable experience awaits you on the frozen fjords of Kirkenes! This is your chance to learn how to catch, cook, and most importantly feast on this mysterious creature. In this ultimate King crab fishing experience, you will be taken by snowmobile sledge* out on the fjord ice. Here you will take part in the entire experience of catching the giant, seeing how it is prepared and served the Norwegian way. After this, sit back and enjoy the drive through the snowy wonderland as you head back to Finland. Tonight you will stay in a unique glass igloo hotel. If the weather is perfect, you may have the chance to witness the *Aurora from the comfort of the glass igloo! Later in the evening, more adventure awaits you as you embark on a snowmobile ride through the snowy wonderland.
*Snowmobile sledge will be placed by boat in the event of bad weather

SAARISELKA – ROVANIEMI

Depart from Saariselka and head towards Rovaniemi. Upon arrival, visit Santa Claus’ Village at the Arctic Circle. You will receive a certificate of crossing after you cross the Arctic Circle. Next meet Santa Claus in his lodge. There you can have your picture taken with Santa Claus and also shop for souvenir and handicrafts. Don’t forget to fill in your post cards and have it send from Santa’s Post Office with the special Arctic Circle stamp to your loved ones back home. Later, sit back and be led by a Reindeer sleigh enjoying the snowy wonderland.

ROVANIEMI

Start your day with a visit to a zoo in the Arctic – Ranua Zoo! Here is where you can view arctic animals like the Polar bears, lynxes, wolverines, otters and northern birds. Adventure awaits you as you embark on a Husky Dog ride after receiving proper instructions on how to drive the sledge with these playful canines through the fascinating arctic landscapes.

ROVANIEMI – HELSINKI

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Helsinki.
*In the event if the flight back to Helsinki is an early flight then the Helsinki city tour and lunch will be on this day instead.

Embark on a city tour which includes a visit to the Senate Square, Helsinki’s administrative centre, the University and its library, the White Cathedral, Senate Council and Sederholm House, which is the city’s oldest stone building. Continue to Market Place, the coastal streets of Helsinki, and the residential and diplomatic quarters of Kaivopuisto. View the outdoor sculpture, Sibelius Monument, created by Eila Hiltunen in honour of composer, Jean Sibelius and visit Temppeliaukion Church which is constructed out of solid rock. Then, admire the outstanding architectural design of Finlandia Hall of Congress, Concert Centre and Post Office Mansion. After lunch, is free at leisure for you to explore the city.
