TAIPEI - TAITUNG - GREEN ISLAND

This morning, transfer to Taipei Songshan Airport for your domestic flight to Taitung. Upon arrival, take a speedboat ride from Fugang Fishing Harbor to Green Island, and immerse yourself into the island’s slow pace of life and tropical vibes. Start the tour by visiting Human Rights Culture Park, a memorial designed by a famous Taiwanese architect to remember the thousands of political dissidents imprisoned during the 38-year period of martial law in Taiwan. Next, travel to Haisenping, a picturesque bay surrounded by volcanic rocks. Many of these volcanic formations are named after objects they resemble, such as Pekingese Dog and Sleeping Beauty. Next, visit Guanyin Cave, a limestone terrain formed by rising coral reefs that were long eroded by underground rivers.

Return Taitung to Green Island speedboat rides will take about 1 hour each. Please bring along motion sickness pills for the speedboat rides if required.

GREEN ISLAND - TAITUNG

After breakfast, board the speedboat ride to return to Taitung. Next, transfer to Xiaoyeliu, a geological wonderland with dozens of fascinating rock formations and be enthralled by the spectacular shoreline of Pacific Ocean. Then, proceed to Amis Aboriginal Tribe Cultural Centre where you will learn about the aboriginal tribes’ history and culture, and enjoy song and dance performances. Stop by a coral museum before heading to Sanxiantai and relish in its rocky coastal views. Head over to Pisirian and discover more about tribal culture while spotting 11 different illustration works by Jimmy Liao found in the different corners of the place. Enjoy a romantic evening at Tiehua Music Village, a creative haven for Taitung’s emerging artists and musicians. This evening, check in to your 2-night hot spring resort stay. Rejuvenate and refresh yourself by enjoying your personal hot spring facility in room.

TAITUNG

This morning, rise early for a colourful hot air balloon experience anchored to the ground and capture a spectacular 360-degree view of Taitung canyons. Next, proceed to Luye Gaotai and admire the picturesque scenery of mountains in the distance and lush tea plantations. Then, make your way to Guanshan, nicknamed Taiwan’s Rice County, and visit Guanshan Rice County School. The school was transformed from a rice mill and granary to an experiential educational institute for
tourists to learn more about the end-to-end process of producing rice. Participate in a DIY rice packing session and bring home a complimentary packet of premium rice. En route, stop at Mr Brown Avenue, also known as Takeshi Kaneshiro’s Avenue, and set your soul free from the hustle and bustle of city life. If time permits, you can rent a bicycle at your own expense and explore the vast paddy fields firsthand. Thereafter, explore Zhengqi Road Fruit Street, famous for the congregation of fruits stalls selling locally produced fruits. You will be spoilt for choice as you select from the myriad of seasonal fruits and local speciality snacks.

Please prepare warm clothes for the hot air balloon experience that will take around 5 to 7 minutes. Morning call will be around 3.30am local time. Hot air balloon experience is subject to weather conditions, wind speed and safety issues, and will be replaced with a guided tour to view the firing of hot air balloons if unavailable.

TAITUNG - HUALIEN

After breakfast, proceed to scenic Hualien and visit a lingzhi speciality centre before heading to Taroko National Park. Marvel at the marblewalled canyons, towering mountains and spectacular geological formations like Taroko Gorge, Changchun Shrine and Swallow Grotto. This evening, visit the newest and largest market in Hualien, Dongdamen Night Market to experience Taiwan’s unique night market culture, sample local street snacks and shop for souvenirs.

HUALIEN - TAIPEI

After breakfast, enjoy an east coast scenic train ride to Taipei. Upon arrival, visit the
stately Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, dedicated to the political and military leader,
which features enormous marble edifice towers over landscaped gardens, statuesque pavilions and placid ponds. Then, head to a pixiu lucky charm centre and pineapple pastry speciality store. This evening, immerse yourself in the vibrant ambience at Ximending, Taipei’s famed shopping area and epicentre of the city’s youth culture to shop and people watch.
