Assemble at Singapore Changi International Airport for your flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, pay a visit to Yangon’s most iconic landmark, Shwedagon Pagoda. The massive 99-metre high gold plated pagoda with diamond-studded stupa is Myanmar’s most important Buddhist pilgrimage site. You may also admire its dozens of colourful and intricately decorated temples, statues, and stupas. End your day at Karaweik Palace, the only place in Yangon where you can discover authentic traditional performance alongside great food with hospitalised comfort of a majestic setting.

YANGON - BAGO - KYAIKTIYO

After breakfast, transfer to Kyaiktiyo via Bago. Enroute, head over to one of Myanmar’s largest reclining Buddha images in Myanmar, Shwethalyaung Buddha. Next, make your way to Kanbawzathadi Palace, which is a reconstruction of the original royal palace based on knowledge gained from excavations and original drawings of the building. After lunch, take a hill truck up Mount Kyaiktiyo (30minutes’ journey) where Kyaiktiyo Pagoda awaits you. The giant, precariously balanced gold boulder topped with a stupa is said to cover a hair of Buddha. Do not forget to admire the panoramic views of the surrounding Mon State mountain! Thereafter, transfer to the hotel for a night’s rest and dinner.

KYAIKTIYO - BAGO - YANGON

This morning, you may wish to admire the sunrise at the summit before transferring to Yangon. On the way, explore more of Bago at Myanmar’s tallest pagoda, Shwemawdaw Pagoda, before making a stop at Bago Market where you can catch a glimpse of the traditional cheroot industry. After lunch, observe Taukkyan War Cemetery where the beautifully tended tombstones of Allied soldiers who lost their lives during World War II are located at. Wrap up your day with a visit to Kyauktawgyi Buddha Temple, known for its enormous Buddha image made out of a single piece of white marble.

Today, travel to the outskirts of Yangon by circular train and witness the beauty and contrasting landscapes of urban Yangon. You will start to see the green lush fields of rural Yangon before arriving at the bustling Danyingone Market (90minutes journey). Be involved in the market atmosphere as you get among the locals, dive into the local cuisine, and marvel at the unique forms of transportation while vendors go about their trade. After lunch, let your purse strings loose at Bogyoke Market. With more than 2,000 shops, you can find the largest selection of Myanmar handicrafts, jewellery, lacquerware, puppets, Shan traditional shoulder bags, and souvenirs. Do not miss out the opportunity to take a look at beautiful colonial-era architecture – Yangon is one of the finest places to view them as it has the densest concentration of colonial-era buildings in Southeast Asia. Drive past numerous buildings, namely Independence Monument, Yangon City Hall, High Court Building, Rowe & Co. Department Store, Immanuel Baptist Church, Yangon Stock Exchange, Police Commissioner’s Office, Custom House, Myanma Port Authority, The Strand Hotel Yangon, Australian Embassy Yangon, British Embassy Rangoon, Central Post Office, Basic Education High School No. 6 Botataung, and Ministers’ Building. Along the way, make a photo stop at Sule Pagoda and St. Mary’s Cathedral. Thereafter, visit Kheng Hock Keong Chinese Temple, which is dedicated to the Chinese sea goddess, Mazu, and is Yangon’s oldest Chinese Buddhist and Taoist temple.
