Visit Volubilis one of the most impressive Roman ruins in Morocco, and one of the former Empire’s most remote outposts, as the tough legionnaires were held back from further expansion by the Berber Tribes. Once a thriving provincial city, it takes only a little imagination to see toga-clad senators and scurrying plebeians filling its streets.

DAY 7
FEZ
Your city tour of Fez will include viewing the exterior of The Royal Palace though general public are barred from entering the Palace, but it is still an impressive sight even from outside. The Mosque of Bouanania built between 1350 and 1357, is the biggest in Fès, and the hallmark of Merenid architecture. The University of Quaraouiyne is one of the most imposing in Morocco. It houses a university which is thought to be the oldest in the world and which was founded in the middle of the 9th century at a time when theology, grammar and Koranic law were the basic subjects taught. The El-Attarine medersa, situated opposite it, is considered to be the most beautiful in the medina. Explore The Fez Medina with their typical bazaars which has been designated UNESCO World Heritage of Humanity Site. Wander through its souks and alleys which are unchanged since the Middle Ages. Old Fes is stereotypical exotic Morocco – narrow winding alleys, craft bazaars, food markets, mosques, madarsas (theological seminaries), dye-pits and tanneries. From a hill top one will be able to have a panoramic view of this old impressive city, and that what appeared to be a line of trees is actually a flourishing oasis.
