DAY 2 |
MANCHESTER – LIVERPOOL – LANCASTER
This morning, explore Manchester, often regarded as one of the world’s 1st industrial cities that propelled the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century. View the world’s 1st passenger railway, Liverpool Road Station, followed by a stop at University District. Not only was this the site where the 1st atom was split, it was also the place where the world’s 1st programmable computer was created. For avid football fans, you will have the opportunity to visit Manchester United’s Old Trafford Stadium, where some of England’s famous teams practice and play. Next, proceed to the historic city of Liverpool, hometown of the legendary Beatles. Embark on a city tour, which will include stops at St George’s Hall, Liverpool Town Hall and Liverpool Cathedral. Next, visit the award-winning The Beatles Story which is spread across 2 sites. This atmospheric museum offers insights into the lives and music of the iconic 60s British band where you also get to view exclusive memorabilia and interactive discovery zones.

LANCASTER – LAKE DISTRICT – EDINBURGH
This morning, head to Lake District National Park and appreciate the picturesque assemblage of pristine lakes, mountains and forests. Admire the charm of Lake District from a historic steamer cruise on Lake Windermere. Thereafter, continue to Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland where you can enjoy a traditional Scottish dinner with song and dance.

EDINBURGH – GLASGOW
The 1st stop in this city is the iconic Edinburgh Castle, perched imposingly on the plug of an extinct volcano overlooking the city. Next, journey to the city’s Old Town which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit Royal Mile, a charming cobblestone historic thoroughfare that houses a colourful mix of shops, cafes and attractions. Make a stop at the elegant Palace of Holyroodhouse, official residence of the monarch of the United Kingdom in Scotland. Next, visit The Scottish Parliament which was officially opened in 2004, comprising a series of abstract and modern complexes. Then, adjourn to New Town and navigate through its orderly streets while admiring the elegant and beautifully-preserved Georgian architecture. In the afternoon, spend some time at leisure in the city of Edinburgh before travelling to Glasgow where you will spend the night.

Start the day with a drive to Cairnryan for a short ferry ride to the bustling city of Belfast, the capital and largest city of Northern Ireland. Upon arrival, continue your journey along the beautiful Antrim Coast road past scenic valleys and rugged beaches to Giant’s Causeway, an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns and one of the most iconic natural wonders in the United Kingdom. Visit this UNESCO World Heritage Site located in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This impressive landscape was formed by volcanic activity almost 60 million years ago.

BELFAST – DUBLIN
This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Belfast city’s attractions, including Belfast City Hall, Albert Memorial Clock, Queen’s University Belfast and Stormont Parliament Buildings. Then, visit the fascinating Titanic Belfast and learn all about the building of the largest passenger steam ship, its maiden voyage and the tragic night of 14 April 1912. Next, continue to Dublin, the capital and the largest city in Ireland. Kick off the day with a city tour and take in the sights of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Trinity College Dublin, the statue-lined O’Connell Street and the elegant Georgian Squares. Thereafter, visit St James’s Gate Brewery, a homage to Guinness and one of Ireland's most enduring symbols. Discover everything about Guinness before ending the day with a unique tasting session at the rooftop Gravity Bar with panoramic views of the city.

CHESTER – STRATFORD-UPON-AVON – OXFORD
This morning, tour the picturesque town of Stratford-upon-Avon, most famous for being the birthplace of world-famous playwright William Shakespeare. Pay literary homage at the quaint, Tudor-style Shakespeare’s Birthplace. Crafted partially in timber, it has been painstakingly furnished to recreate the interiors of his childhood home. Spend some time at leisure exploring this lovely town and taking in sights of the surrounding landscape. Next, travel to Oxford, home to University of Oxford and its colleges, from whence emerged generations of thought leaders and scholarly heavyweights such as former US President Bill Clinton. Stop by Christ Church college and visit the dining room that was a filming site for many scenes in the Harry Potter films. View Bodleian Library and its picture-perfect college courtyards.

OXFORD – LONDON
This morning, head to London. Visit Royal Observatory Greenwich situated on a hill in Greenwich Park, overlooking River Thames. Then, go on a Thames River cruise and explore sites such as Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Tower of London, The Shard and many more. This afternoon, visit Borough Market, with its warren of passageways and open spaces that provide a bustling atmosphere and offer shoppers the thrill of new discoveries. Celebrate the finale of a wonderful trip this evening with your travel companions and Mediacorp Artiste Kym Ng at a farewell dinner.
