This morning, embark on a tour to the oldest part of the city, an island called Gamla Stan or old town in Swedish. Start your exploration with a visit to City Hall. Apart from the numerous rooms, you will set your eyes on the glorious Golden Hall, venue of the annual Nobel Prize Dance. The Blue Hall, with its great staircases inspired by Doge’s Palace in Venice, is where the Nobel Dinner is held. Stroll through the picturesque old town to admire its cluster of beautifully preserved old buildings and narrow streets which formed the city during the 16th to 18th centuries. In the late afternoon, transfer to Karlstad for your overnight stay. Located on Vanern, Sweden’s largest lake, this city is home to the country’s 2nd-largest lake port.
Meals: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
DAY 3
KARLSTAD – OSLO
Bid farewell to Sweden as you cross over to Norway, a rugged and mysterious country with its landscape comprising vast swathes of blue glaciers, dramatic peaks and deep fjords. Spend the day in Oslo, the capital city of Norway and one of the oldest capital cities in Scandinavia. Delve deep into the culture and history of Norway as you embark on a city tour around Oslo, which will kick off with a photo stop at Akershus Fortress. This medieval castle, located strategically at the tip of the headland, was completed at the turn of the 13th century and has withstood several sieges over the years. Today, the fortress area is often used as the backdrop for celebrations and events. Next, proceed to Viking Ship Museum, where you will learn more about the epic seafaring history of the Vikings. Come face-to-face with the displays of a trio of gigantic Viking vessels, Oseberg, Gokstad and Tune, which were discovered in royal burial mounds in the Oslo fjord.
Meals: Breakfast/Dinner
DAY 4
OSLO – LAERDAL
This morning, depart Oslo towards Lake Tyin passing through the region of Valdres. From there, overlook Filefjell with its fine views as you descend to Laerdal. On the way, make a stop at the traditional Borgund Stave Church, one of the most distinctive Norwegian stave churches. Some of the finest features are the lavishly carved portals and the roof carvings of dragons' heads. The stave churches are Norway's most important contribution to world architecture and Norway's oldest preserved timber buildings.

The sculpture has been set on a rock just off the shore since 1913 and is inspired by one of Hans Christian Anderson’s fairytales. See also the magnificent Gefion Fountain, the largest monument in Copenhagen and used by many as a wishing well. Drive around Nyhavn which means new harbour, one of the most famous entertainment streets in Copenhagen. Then, spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at leisure. May we suggest you visit Stroget, a pedestrian precinct bustling with activities, shops and many open-air cafes and Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen’s most popular amusement park that has earned rave reviews for its fine selection of entertainment and restaurants, at your own expense.
