DAY 2 |
ROME – NAPLES
Begin your morning by visiting legendary Vatican City, the world’s smallest country. Over here, you will witness St Peter's Basilica, one of the most famous and biggest churches in the world. Next, view Colosseum in its resplendent glory, ancient gladiators once battled each other for the public’s entertainment. If you close your eyes and concentrate hard, you might hear the roaring crowd rooting for their favourite gladiator. Next, make a wish at the baroque Trevi Fountain before visiting Spanish Steps, the widest staircase in Europe. Movie buffs take heed, for you might find this attraction familiar as it was made rather famous by the film “Roman Holiday”, starring Audrey Hepburn. Come dusk, head to Naples for your overnight stay to lay down and chew the fat.

DAY 3 |
NAPLES – ALBEROBELLO
Today, you will depart Naples and continue to the picturesque town of Alberobello like no other in the world. Explore the the two districts of Rione Monti and Rione Aia Piccola, iconic for their ancient cone-roofed houses, known as Trulli Houses, clustered together like a hobbit town. These unique trulli houses have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996. There are also a handful of small museums and plenty of opportunities for buying souvenirs and tasting local products.

DAY 4 |
ALBEROBELLO – MATERA – NAPLES – PALERMO
This morning, depart for Matera. Visit Sassi of Matera, ancient cave dwellings dating back to 30,000 years ago. In 1993, the town was made a UNESCO World Heritage site for being the most outstanding and intact example of a troglodyte settlement in the Mediterranean, perfectly adapted to its terrain and ecosystem. Matera was the one of the filming locations for Mel Gibson's film “The Passion of the Christ”, with shots showing Sassi and the gorge below. Then, make your way back to Naples to board an overnight cruise to Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean.

DAY 5 |
PALERMO – MONREALE – AGRIGENTO
Upon disembarkation, your first stop will be Palermo, the regional capital of Sicily. Visit the ornate Piazza Bellini, the bustling local market Mercato di Capo, view the baroque Church of the Immaculate Conception, and the honey colored Cathedral. After which, drive up to the town of Monreale for a panoramic view of Conca d’Oro and a visit to the magnificent 12th-century Cathedral of Santa Maria la Nouva, famous for its exquisite Norman architecture and 50,000 square feet of precious byzantine mosaics. Next, drive along the western coast to Agrigento for your overnight stay.

AGRIGENTO – TAORMINA
This morning, enjoy a guided tour through the breathtaking Valley of the Temples. Be awed by one of the most outstanding monuments of ancient Greek, a magnificent row of Doric temples supported by massive columns and pillars which opens up to the sky. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the ancient ruins remain largely intact with 24 centuries of tormented history. Next, head towards Taormina, a charming hilltop town overlooking the Ionian Sea.

DAY 7 |
TAORMINA – SYRACUSE – MALTA ISLAND
Begin your day with a visit to Taormina’s stunning Greek Theatre. As its columns and arches were damaged during the wars, visitors to this site now can view from afar the Gulf of Taormina and Mt Edna which the theatre is set against. Thereafter, stroll along Corso Umberto 1, the vibrant main street of Taormina. The busy street is lined with many souvenir shops, restaurants and boutiques. The unique atmosphere and the many beautifully restored historic buildings should not be missed too. Continue our journey to Syracuse, a historic city in Sicily notable for its rich Greek history, culture, amphitheatres and architecture. Visit the city’s finest sight, Archaeological Park of Neapolis. Its Roman amphitheater is one of the finest and largest of its kind. Cut directly into the rock, it was enlarged and modified several times over the centuries, and is still in use today staging Greek plays in May and June every year. Proceed to board a ferry to Malta Island in the Republic of Malta for your overnight stay.

MALTA ISLAND – VALLETTA – MDINA – MALTA ISLAND
This morning, tour the Republic of Malta’s capital city of Valletta, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its long and eventful history. Despite its small size, it is one of the densest historical areas in Europe containing 320 monuments from its long history of various empires. Visit the majestic St John’s Co-Cathedral, surrounded by imposing bastions and housing a treasure trove of priceless paintings. Not to be missed is the beautiful Upper Barrakka Gardens with incredible views of the Grand Harbor. Next, make a trip to Mdina and tour its ancient old town containing impressive palaces and Baroque architecture.

MALTA ISLAND – GOZO ISLAND – MALTA ISLAND
Today, board a ferry to neighbouring Gozo Island to visit its capital, Victoria. Visit iconic attractions such as Gozo Cathedral, built entirely from local limestone. Next, take a boat ride around the caves of Azure Window, a towering limestone arch over the sea and one of Malta’s most prominent attractions. Then, proceed to Calypso’s Cave, which overlooks the glorious red sands of Ramla Bay, Gozo island’s finest beach. According to Maltese folklores, the cave was where the beautiful nymph Calypso kept Odysseus as a prisoner of love for seven years.
