* Visit : St Istvan Bazilika, Fisherman’s Bastion
Budapest’s largest Roman Catholic Church is the home of a national relic, the Holy Right, the mummified hand of the first Hungarian King, St Stephen. Built between 1895 and 1902, the Neo Romanesque Fisherman’s Bastion occupies a portion of the old walls of Buda Castle defended in the middle ages by the guild of fishermen. Its tower and terraces afford a breath taking view over the city

Officially called the Historical Building Complex, The Viajdahunyad Castle was built in 1896 for the Millennium celebrations. Hero Square is the largest square in Budapest. The Millennium Monument in the middle of the square was erected to commemorate the 1,000 year old history of the Magyars. The Matthias Church was originally built in the early middle ages and served as the coronation church of several Hungarian kings.

Historically, Ptuj is one of the most important places in the country, and its 2000-year history can be felt as you walk through the town passing by Ptuj Castle, St George’s Church, Town Hall, Dominican Monastery, Orpheus Monument, Franciscan Monastery and St Oswald’s Church.

The old town comprises of notable features including the Castle Square (Grajski Trg) with its fascinating Castle and Museum, the Main Square (Glavni Trg) with the Plague Memorial and the Town Hall Rotovž, the Maribor Cathedral with an observation tower and the Statue of Anton Martin Slomšek, the Maribor Synagogue, art galleries and theatres plus of course many fine bars, cafes and restaurants. Vinag Wine cellar being one of the largest and oldest classic wine cellars in Europe whereas The Old Vine House is the oldest vine in the world.

MARIBOR / SLOVENSKE KONJICE / ROGASKA SLATINA / OLIMJE / CATEZ OB SAVI (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Dating back to 12th century, Zice Monastery was shut down in 1782. Today it offers you a glimpse of the past while you walk through the old ruins and the exhibition on the monastery’s history in one of the restored parts.

Located on the eastern part of Slovenia, Rogaska Slatina is known for its curative mineral water, spa and crystal glass.
Have time to roam the town or even a taste of the mineral spring water.

This beautiful castle was turned into a monastery in 17th century now houses the oldest farmacy in Europe. Still an active monastery it allows the visitors to see the farmacy as well as purchase products made by the monks.

CATEZ OB SAVI / NOVO MESTO / OTOCEC / LJUBLJANA (Breakfast)

The old city core of Novo Mesto, situated on a promontory in a bend of the Krka River, is enchanting with its aristocratic Glavni trg Square with arcades fronting the ground floors of rich townhouses and its characteristic City Hall. The Chapter Church, the Franciscan Church, the Dolenjska Regional Museum, and the Jakčev dom Gallery are also worth visiting, and the view of the remarkable row of Na Bregu houses - the most picturesque part of the city core - reflected in the Krka River has often been depicted by painters.

LOGARSKA DOLINA / LAKE BLED / BOHINJ (Breakfast / Dinner)

Lake Bled is the world famous Alpine lake renowned for a medieval castle perched on a cliff above the lake.
* Visit : Vintgar Gorge
The 1.6km long Vintgar Gorge carves its way through the vertical rocks of the Hom and Bort hills and is graced by the Radovna with its waterfalls, pools and rapids. The trail leads you over wooden bridges and Žumr’s galleries, and ends with a bridge overlooking the mighty 13m high Šum Waterfall.
DAY 8
BOHINJ / OPATIJA (Breakfast / Lunch)
* Visit : Lake Bohinj
The glacial Lake Bohinj is the largest and most beautiful Alpine lake in Slovenia. The best way to see the stunning blue shades of the lake surrounded by the magnificent Alps from above is to take the cable car to Mt Vogel.
DAY 9
OPTAIJA / MOTOVUN / ROVINJ (Breakfast / Truffle Lunch / Dinner)

A staircase of 1052 steps leads up to the town of Motovun which lies on top of a steep hill that dominates the Mirna River. The town is attractive due to its medieval atmosphere (the walls in the shape of a ring and two half rings) with a view spreading over vineyards and fields of the Motovun forest.

This city is rich with historical landmarks, of which your walking tour will cover Old Town, City Walls and Gates, Church of St. Euphemia, Baptistry of the Holy Trinity, Franciscan Monastery, the castle on the island of St. Andrew and Dvigrad. Stroll Secovlje’s historical landscape covered in salt flats. In summer time, when the salt works are in full swing, the fields are bustling and alive, and in any other season it is a peaceful place with beautiful scenery.
